Fort Wayne Community Schools - Amp Lab

What if students were challenged to solve real problems for real people? Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, the Amp Lab at Electric Works gives four hundred 11th and 12th graders from the five Fort Wayne Community Schools the opportunity to enhance their educational experience. Students will spend half of their day at their comprehensive high school taking core classes and half of their day at the Amp Lab bringing their learning to life!

We exist to create opportunities for students to explore their passions, apply their talents, and make our community a better place. The Amp Lab is a unique learning environment built for students of diverse backgrounds to gain real-world experience in an innovative and agile setting. Students will be able to apply in the Winter of the 2021-2022 school year.

Students are enabled to explore their creative side and find that learning new skills and applying them to new contexts can be both fun and engaging.

Students are challenged to create meaningful partnerships with local businesses and organizations. Students leave with the relationships, skills, and experiences to launch into their future.

Students are empowered to own their learning and challenge the status quo of education by creating new ideas to help solve problems our community faces.

Students are invited to change the narrative around what teenagers are capable of. They amplify the power of people, ideas, and new solutions within the communities ecosystem.
