FWCS Staff Gathers for Kick-Off of New School Year
Fort Wayne Community Schools staff members from every school and every department will gather to kick off the 2014-15 school year at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Memorial Coliseum. Teachers, administrators, support personnel and other staff members will gather to hear a beginning of the year message from Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson and members of the FWCS Board of School Trustees.
“As we begin this school year, we have a lot to accomplish, but we also have a lot to celebrate,” Dr. Robinson said. “We want staff members to know that we appreciate the work they do every day, and that we are here to support them as we begin a new school year. We are all excited about the return of students on Monday and want to start off on a positive note.”
Staff members will travel to the Coliseum on school buses to alleviate traffic and reduce parking issues. All school and district offices will be closed Thursday morning as employees attend the kick-off. Staff members will return to their buildings for the remainder of the day following the event.
