Wayne Athletic Hall of Fame Announces Class of 2015
The Wayne High School Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2015 includes track stars, coaches and those who have contributed to make Wayne student-athletes successful.
The 2015 class includes:
Athletes
- Sybil Perry (Track, Gymnastics 1981)
- Albert Gooden (Football, Basketball, Track and Field, Baseball 1977)
Coaches
- Nelson Detwiler( Boys Track and Field, Cross Country (1972-1989)
- Bill Blosser (Girls Track and Field, Cross Country (1972-1986)
Contributors
- Jason Baker (1997-present)
- Larry Dafforn (1987-present)
Sponsored by the Wayne Athletic Department, the Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of outstanding achievements by student athletes and adults in athletics at Wayne High School. Student athletes are eligible for consideration five years after completion of their high school careers, while coaches are eligible for consideration five years after they retire from coaching. Contributors are individuals who over many years worked as an employee of Wayne High School or significantly contributed time or resources, in each case to the betterment of the Wayne High School athletic programs. Nominations may be made for individuals for future consideration by completing the nomination form found at www.wayne-athletics.com
The Hall of Fame Induction will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Wayne. Following the event, guests are encouraged to stay for the Boys Basketball game where the inductees will be recognized. Tickets for the event may be purchased by contacting the athletic office at 260-467-6432.
