Nebraska Elementary, 1525 Boone St., is seeking memorabilia to display during the school’s open house later this month for current and former students, families and staff as well as neighborhood and community members.

Nebraska will be open from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 21, for those who want to reminisce about their time at the school, which will close as an elementary school at the end of the school year. Tours will be given, and guests can enjoy light refreshments.

At 2 p.m., former Nebraska students from the current class of 2016 will dig up the time capsule they buried in 2009 with fifth-grade teacher Janis Carr.

Anyone wanting to share memorabilia, such as yearbooks, pictures or other items, can drop the items off at Nebraska prior to the open house. Please mark the items with your name and phone number so the items can be returned.
