FWCS Offers College & Career Exploration Program
Fort Wayne Community Schools is offering a free, four-week program for middle and high school students to prepare for life after high school. Students in seventh- and eighth-grade and high school students are invited to sign up to learn more about preparing for college and future careers, understanding financial literacy and developing a well-rounded portfolio.
The program will be offered on four consecutive Saturdays, beginning Saturday, Feb. 18, and ending Saturday, March 11, at the FWCS Family and Community Engagement Center, 230 E. Douglas Ave. High school students will attend from 9 a.m.-noon, followed by seventh- and eighth-graders from 1-3 p.m.
“We had an excellent turnout in the fall and are now offering additional opportunities for students to come together and start thinking about what they want to do with their lives,” said Shenita Piper, K-12 College and Career Readiness Manager. “The sessions are open to all FWCS students, whether they attended in the fall or not. Middle school students will focus on skills needed to make the right choices for their future, while high school students will focus on preparing for life after high school.”
