FWCS Celebrates the Class of 2017
Fort Wayne Community Schools will celebrate commencement Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10, for the more than 1,800 members of the Class of 2017.
The members of the Class of 2017 leave their high schools with varied future plans. Some will pursue higher education at institutions such as Indiana University, Purdue University, University of Houston, DePauw University and Michigan State University. They will study biochemistry, electrical engineering, education, linguistics, pre-med, criminology and much more. Some graduates will enter the military, including one graduate who will attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, or continue working on the technical training they need to start a career in trades such as carpentry or automotive mechanics. Still others will jump right into pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams, focusing on building their own businesses. But before embarking on their new adventures, they will come together one final time for their graduation ceremonies at the Memorial Coliseum.
Commencement ceremonies are held in the Memorial Coliseum at the following times:
- South Side – Friday, June 9, 6 p.m.
- Northrop – Friday, June 9, 7:30 p.m.
- Snider – Saturday, June 10, 10 a.m.
- Wayne – Saturday, June 10, noon
- North Side – Saturday, June 10, 1:30 p.m.
