Snider coaches honored
Snider High School athletics department staff took home many impressive honors from the SAC banquet held recently. Congratulations to: * Coach Andy Owen, Varsity Baseball Coach, who was selected as District Baseball Coach of the Year representing the D District for the State of Indiana. This selection was voted by his peers for his outstanding success during the 2005 high school baseball season. * Coach Tony Cardenas, Varsity Girls’ Soccer Coach, who was selected as District 2 Coach of the Year. This selection was voted by his peers for his outstanding success during the 2005 high school soccer season. * Coach Evan Grotemat who was named SAC Volleyball Coach of the Year. This selection was voted by his peers for his outstanding success during the 2005 high school volleyball season. * Retired Coach LaMar Kilmer (Deceased) who was selected as one of the 2006 Inductees for the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame. This selection is voted on by Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association and the award will be accepted by his wife, Sally Kilmer. Coach Kilmer compiled the following record during his 23 year coaching tenure as Snider’s Tennis Coach from 1973-1995: 390 Wins...90 Losses...78% Winning Average 11 SAC Championships 11 Sectional Championships 2 Regional Championships 1 Semi-State Runner-Up Title Snider’s athletic director is Michael Hawley.
