From firefighting to child care, Anthis Career Center offers junior and seniors in Northeast Indiana a wide range of programs that will give them a jump start on their future success! Fort Wayne Community Schools' district TV program, Emphasis on FWCS features an in-depth look at the career center with guests Ron Flickinger, area vocational coordinator and Karen Gillie, teacher in the Information technology Academy. Emphasis moderator is Elizabeth Nulf MacDonald, former 21 Alive anchor and now South Side High School English teacher. The 30-minute show can be seen on LTV-54, Comcast Channel 54 Tuesdays at 9 p.m.; Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 8 p.m. This segment will run now through April 23. LTV-54 Coordinator Tim Moriarty is director and associate producer; Debbie Morgan, PIO, is producer.

With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
