Students from Weisser Park Arts Magnet School will perform at the annual May Celebration of the Arts on Saturday, May 12, at South Side High School. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and includes student performances in bands, choirs, piano, string instruments, clowns, chimes and dance. The day's schedule includes: All day Student performances 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Hands-on art activities 10 a.m. 4 p.m. Nelson's Port-A-Pit 11 a.m. 1 p.m. Larry Ford Trio 6 7 p.m. Ice Cream Social and Fine Arts Raffle Contact: Pamela Pierson, Vocal Music Teacher and Arts Magnet Coordinator, 467-8875

With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level.
