Media alert: Northrop seniors present donation to paralyzed swimmer
What:
Northrop High School seniors will present a check to the FWCS Foundation to benefit Dustin Faurote, the Northrop swimmer paralyzed in an accident over spring break. Students have raised nearly $10,000 since the April 4 accident in an effort to help build a handicap-accessible home for Faurote. They will be joined by area businesses who've agreed to contribute materials, labor and services.
Where: Northrop High School Bruin Room
When: Friday, May 11, 10 a.m.
Why:
Dustin Faurote is in a rehabilitation hospital in Georgia. Contractors determined his home could not be modified to make it accessible upon his return, so students and community members decided to build a home for him.
