FWCS provides meals to students over the summer
Fort Wayne Community Schools will again sponsor the Summer Food Service Program for Children (SFSPC) providing free meals to children 18 and younger and to adults who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled.
The meal program was created to serve nutritious meals to children when National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program meals are not available. To ensure all children receive proper nutrition throughout the year, SFSPC reimburses organizations that prepare and serve meals to eligible children during the summer.
Meals are served Monday through Friday, unless otherwise noted, at 29 sites. Most sites open on Monday, June 14, and end Friday, July 30.

With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
