Additional Administrative Changes Announced for 2018-19
The Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees approved several administrative appointments Monday, April 23. All changes are effective July 2, 2018.
Lindsey Baumgartner, Northwood Middle School Principal
Lindsey Baumgartner, currently assistant principal at Miami Middle School, will become the principal at Northwood Middle School. She joined FWCS in 2007 as a substitute teacher and became a language arts teacher at Lane Middle School in 2008. She moved to Kekionga in 2010, where she taught language arts and then became an instructional coach. During the 2014-15 school year, she served as an administrative intern at Shawnee and Miami middle schools, and in 2015, she became an assistant principal at Miami. At Northwood, she replaces Austin Couch, who is moving to a position in the FWCS Human Resources Department.
Tim Captain, Director, Student & Family Support Services
Tim Captain, currently principal of Towles Intermediate School, will become the Director of Student and Family Support Services in the Family and Community Engagement Center (FACE). Captain joined FWCS in 1998 as a teacher at Fairfield Elementary. He completed the administrative intern program during the 2003-04 school year at Indian Village Elementary. He then served as a Technology Coordinator until 2009 when he became the Secondary Administration Coordinator. In 2012, he moved to Towles as the assistant principal overseeing Towles New Tech, and in 2016, he became principal of Towles. At FACE, he takes over the position previously held by Chad Hissong, who is now principal of Snider High School.
Rena Clemons, Miami Middle School Principal
Rena Clemons, currently assistant principal at Portage Middle School, will become the principal at Miami Middle School. She began her career with FWCS as a teacher at Lane Middle School in 2007. She became a school improvement coordinator at Kekionga Middle School in 2010, and served as an administrative intern at Lakeside and Miami middle schools during the 2012-13 school year. In 2013, she became an assistant principal at Shawnee Middle School, and in 2017, moved to Portage. At Miami, she replaces Adam Swinford, who will be principal at South Side High School.
Jesse Webb, FWCS Career Academy Principal
Jesse Webb, currently an assistant principal at Snider High School, will become the new principal at the FWCS Career Academy, overseeing programs at the Bill C. Anthis Center, Parkview Education Center and other Career Academy locations. Webb began his education career in 2001 as a business and math teacher at Garrett High School, where he taught for 11 years. In 2012, he became an assistant principal and athletic director at Hamilton Community Schools. He joined FWCS in 2016 as an assistant principal at Snider. At the Career Academy, he takes over for Larry Gerardot, who is retiring after 30 years with FWCS.
Jennifer Witzigreuter, Towles Intermediate School Principal
Jennifer Witzigreuter, currently assistant principal at Towles Intermediate School, will become principal of the school. She began her career with FWCS as a substitute teacher in 1995, and in 1996, started working at Maplewood Elementary. In 2005, she moved to Bunche Montessori Elementary School (later, Bunche Montessori Early Childhood Center) and earned her certification in Montessori instruction. In 2014, she became a District Instructional Coach, and a year later served as an administrative intern at Lindley Elementary School. In 2016, she became the assistant principal at Towles. She now replaces Tim Captain, who will be the Director of Student & Family Support Services in the Family and Community Engagement Center.
