Substitutes Wanted!

In an effort to hire more substitute teachers, Fort Wayne Community Schools has changed its requirements for subs. Now, those with an Associate’s Degree can now apply to be a substitute. Previously, it was limited to those with a Bachelor’s Degree. Those with an Associate’s Degree will earn $95/day, and those with a Bachelor’s Degree will earn $100/day.

Benefits of  being a substitute teacher:

  • Flexible schedule - you pick the days you are available to work!
  • Being difference-maker - that’s right. Even though you may be in a classroom a limited amount of time, sometimes that’s all it takes to make a difference in a student’s life.
  • Variety - you could work in a different building with different students every day, if you like.
  • Relationships - find a school environment you really like? Build relationships and chances are good you’ll be called on frequently.
