Are you ready for this summer’s biggest contest?

Fort Wayne Community Schools has partnered with the Allen County Public Library to participate in the SPARK Summer Reading program and we’re kicking it up a notch but adding our own internal competition between feeder families. 

Feeder Family schools will compete together against the 4 other feeder families.

Top schools win Kona Ice and other great prizes are available for schools and individual readers.

What is SPARK?

SPARK stands for science, play, arts, reading, and knowledge. A community staple, the Allen County Public Library’s summer program has fostered lifelong learning and discovery in generations of young readers.

Who can participate?

SPARK is designed to serve all ages, with activities, challenges, and prizes tailored to fit every age. Participate as a classroom, a family, or an individual! (FWCS is competing as Feeder Families in addition to the ACPL challenge)

What are the benefits?

Free books! Participants have the opportunity to earn amazing prizes and brand new books for completing our SPARK programs. Most importantly, our SPARK programs are designed to combat learning loss during the summer months, and participant feedback shows the program’s valuable impact in our communities. 

How Can I participate?

To participate, please visit You’ll have a chance to win individual prizes through the library and you will automatically be tracked within your feeder family for prizes through Fort Wayne Community Schools.
