Fort Wayne Community Schools - Superintendent Search Information

The Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees is looking for a new superintendent to lead the District’s 4,000 employees and nearly 30,000 students in 50 school buildings.

Dr. Wendy Y. Robinson is retiring as superintendent after 17 years in June 2020. She worked at FWCS for a total of 47 years, which followed 13 years as an FWCS student. She is a tireless advocate for students and public education. During her time as superintendent, she earned numerous awards, including being a finalist for National Superintendent of the Year in 2018. She served on several state and national councils, and is well-known as an expert in the importance of educational leadership serving as a catalyst for student achievement. As superintendent, she moved FWCS from a traditional school model to one that embraces preparing students to be creative problem-solvers who are able to collaborate and use technology, as needed, to make the world a better place.

The Board hired Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates of Schaumburg, Illinois, (HYA) to lead the search process. Applicants can find additional information and apply online through HYA.
