Fort Wayne Community Schools Technology

Welcome to the Fort Wayne Community Schools Technology Department website. We hope that these pages will help give you an understanding of the Technology Department and how it works to support the strategic plan of Fort Wayne Community Schools.

The Technology Department at FWCS is responsible for all technical infrastructure planning, construction, and implementation; phone and on-site technical support to all users; administrative application training and support; systems analysis, development, modification and support; and educational video production, programming, broadcasting, and support. (Classroom technology planning and training is independently handled by a coordinator in each Area Administrator’s office.)

Jack R. Byrd, Chief Technology Officer

To successfully accomplish these responsibilities, the Technology Department is divided into five essential areas: Networks and Communications, Network Support Services, User Support Services, Systems Development, and LTV54, the Education Access Channel. Each area is staffed by skilled specialists focused on providing cutting-edge technology to support student learning and the administrative operations of FWCS. You will find a link to each area on the menu above, along with other links to additional information about the Technology Department.

It is our hope that you will leave these pages with a comprehensive understanding of the Technology Department, and how we empower the education of our students by Bringing 21st Century Technology to the Classroom!
